Your Impact. Their Future. A First Look at Your Quarterly Newsletter for Recurring Donors.

Hi,

Thanks to generous monthly and recurring donors like you, No Kid Hungry is working with schools across the country to expand access to school meals and ensure all kids get the meals they need to dream big. Your ongoing support means even more kids will have the most important school supply: food. From all of us at No Kid Hungry … thank you for all you do.

Since you’re one of our most dedicated supporters, we want to make you aware of what your recurring gifts help make possible. Here are important updates just for you.

Food is the most important school supply:

As the school year begins, families across the country are facing new and mounting challenges. According to a national survey conducted by No Kid Hungry, rising food prices and a worsening job market are leaving many parents and caregivers worried about whether they can put food on the table.

Key findings include:

  • 4 in 10 parents say their financial situation has worsened
  • 2 in 3 are concerned food prices will continue to rise
  • Nearly half say their kids may not have food at school some days without school meals

But there’s good news: School meals are making a difference. They not only nourish kids but also help them focus, attend school regularly and reduce stress at home. Thanks in part to your ongoing gifts, we supported schools in serving over 374 million meals in the 2023-2024 school year and reached millions more kids this summer. Voices of gratitude for all you do:

“Food is the most important supply in school because it makes you energized and makes you strong to work in class.” — Ja’Leo, 5th Grader

“Food is the most important school supply because though we have all the other stuff, we won't be focused enough to actually learn anything if we don't have food.” — Arika, 4th Grader

“Thank you for just making this possible. I had a way to make sure my kids had meals and didn't have to worry about where those were going to come from and a way for them to have healthier options. And we just really appreciate it.” — Keely, Parent

“For the donors that have made this possible, thank you very, very much. I wish you could see the joy in these children's faces. I wish you could see just how comfortable they are and how they're ready to learn how happy they are. It's one less thing for them to worry about. They should not have to worry about food. So thank you very, very much.” — Irene, 2nd Grade Teacher

Thank you for staying informed about all the ways you’re helping change the lives of kids facing hunger!
