Ending Childhood Hunger State by State

No Kid Hungry - Share Our Strength - Los Angeles
Los Angeles No Kid Hungry Campaign Launch at Figueroa St. Elementary School

Cities and states from coast to coast continue to join Share Our Strength to launch No Kid Hungry campaigns, bringing our total number of partnerships to 13. Over the past three months, we've brought together governors, mayors, anti-hunger organizations, celebrities, corporate partners, USDA leadership, educators, and chefs to launch campaigns in New Mexico, Los Angeles (photo above) and Connecticut. While each partnership is unique, all are connecting children to federally funded food and nutrition programs by breaking down barriers that keep kids from getting the nutritious food they need. We're helping schools set up Breakfast in the Classroom programs and getting teens connected with after school meals. If we're to end childhood hunger in the U.S. by 2015, we're going to need the support of everyone, from elected officials to citizens like yourself. We plan to launch five more campaigns across the country by the end of 2011 and we hope you will join us. Donate today to support a No Kid Hungry partnership or get involved in No Kid Hungry efforts in your community.

Great Food, Great Drink, Greater Cause

Taste of the Nation eventShare Our Strength's culinary event season is in full swing! For 2011 we're selling tickets to more than 60 events in cities all across the nation, including our signature Taste of the Nation events, our touring dinner series A Tasteful Pursuit and No Kid Hungry dinners in cities with No Kid Hungry campaigns either in place or launching soon. All events feature food and drink from the nation's hottest chefs and mixologists who generously donate their time and talent to help us raise the funds we need to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.

Share Our Strength's culinary events wouldn't be possible without the tireless work of chefs who donate their time and services to help us raise essential funds and awareness. Our chefs are not only hunger heroes, they're culinary stars! We're so proud to see so many of the chefs who commit their time and passion to ending childhood hunger nominated for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards (winners to be announced in May).

John Currence and Mary Sue Milliken both chose to compete for Share Our Strength as their charity on the current season of Top Chef Masters. We said goodbye to John in the last episode but not before the two raised a combined total of $15,000! Thank John and Mary Sue for their work by leaving a comment on the No Kid Hungry Blog. And good luck to the other chefs also competing who have supported us over the years - Floyd Cardoz, Traci Des Jardins, Naomi Pomeroy, and Celina Tio.
