Why Am I Riding? It’s for the Kids:
Childhood hunger is a huge issue in our nation. As a chef, I know how important food is and how it influences people’s lives every day. Especially children. It’s great opportunities like “Chefs Cycle” that shows how much I believe in our kids and their future.
Share Our Strength works hard to feed kids every day, so please join me in the fight against childhood hunger. Please support me as I prepare to ride my bike down the coast of California from June 14-16. This is my first year riding for Chefs Cycle, and I want to make it count! I hope that you’ll consider making a donation, or to consider pledging $1 for every mile I ride on this nearly 300 mile trip from my home in Santa Barbara, down the coast to California. For every $1 you donate, you can help connect a child with up to 10 meals.
James Siao is the executive chef of Finch & Fork restaurant at Kimpton’s Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara, California. In 2012, Siao became the executive chef of Coast restaurant in Santa Barbara, and Coast subsequently evolved to became Finch & Fork in 2013. As executive chef, Siao has created a modern American bar and grill menu focusing on ingredients from local fishers, farmers and ranchers.
