Welcome to Winty's donation site for No Kid Hungry!
With cycling events getting cancelled this year due to the coronavirus, I've been trying to figure out how I can continue to cycle for charity and the desire has become even more so with the toll that this pandemic is taking on people and families.
I recently learned that 1 in 4 children in the United States could face hunger this year because of the coronavirus. I find this a dire situation. No child should go hungry in this country and especially now. So, I'm supporting No Kid Hungry because I want to help end childhood hunger in America.
To raise funds for No Kid Hungry, I'm pledging to ride my bike over 100 miles, from Sacramento's Tower Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on Saturday, October 10, which is over 100 miles of distance. I'm calling this my "Bridge-to-Bridge Ride for No Kid Hungry". This isn't a formal event but a personal, self-supported initiative.
Am I in shape for this right now? Probably not.
What will my route be? I don't know.
How will I support myself on this ride? No idea (yet).
But, I'm going to do it.
My goal was to raise $1,000 for No Kid Hungry, and the response by people like you has been tremendous! Will you support me by giving a gift of $15, $25, $50 or more to No Kid Hungry? Your tax-deductible gift will provide vulnerable kids with nutritious food and teach their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. No Kid Hungry supports communities all over the country, including with programs right here in the Sacramento area.
