The TST Perform Global Circumference Charity Challenge
Like the rest of the world, over the past 6 months, we here at TST Perform have watched and continue to watch the world go through the pandemic and have seen the many struggles people are going through. With all of the suffering happening around the globe, we have thought long and hard about how we could possibly use our endurance powers for the better.
The product of the time spent brainstorming is this: The TST Perform Global Circumference Charity Challenge. The challenge is simple: Accumulate 25,000 miles of endurance activity over a month (October 1st – November 1st) while raising $2,500 for No Kid Hungry. No Kid Hungry is a charity whose mission is to provide meals to children in need. With schools across the U.S. cancelling in-person instruction, the non-profit estimates that 1 in 4 children have lost their access to consistent meals. No Kid Hungry is attempting to change that. However, simple does not mean easy. 25,000 miles over the course of a month is a huge ask and simply impossible for just the two-man team here at TST Perform. Why 25,000 you might ask? Not only is 25,000 miles an insane distance to cover in a month’s time, but it is also approximately the distance of the circumference of the Earth. We figured this is a fitting number considering this pandemic and suffering is a global issue. No Kid Hungry also claims that each meal is approximately $0.10 so our goal of $2,500 adds up to 1 meal per mile of the challenge. To achieve these goals, we need your help!
We want YOU to join us in this endeavor! Whether you’re a cyclist, runner, swimmer, triathlete, or just enjoy a walk around the neighborhood, your miles can help! We will be using the fitness app Strava (the free version) to monitor our total mileage accumulation. The use of Strava allows us to come together as a community and offer support for one another through our endurance endeavors. To join all you need to do is make a minimum donation of $10 (100 meals) and email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add you to the TST Perform club on Strava. Alone, this challenge is impossible, but together we can make the impossible…possible.
To kick off the fundraiser, Coaches Eric and Miles will be donating $100 (1,000 meals) each to the cause as well as an additional $100 once the goal of $2,500 is met.
You do not have to accumulate any miles if you simply want to donate! Any and all donations are welcome! To make things even more interesting, once we reach the goal, all donors will be entered into a raffle to win their choice of a TST Perform cycling jersey or running singlet!
No kid should ever go to sleep hungry. Help children in need, stay active and healthy, and join a community. Donate today!
